Why Mukilteo pump repair calls look the way they do
A spa pump has two halves: the wet end that moves water and the motor that drives it. In Mukilteo we repair the wet end when the motor is sound, replace the pair when the bearings have gone, and say which one it is before we quote.
Harbour Pointe has a lot of large, well-specified spas — Sundance, Caldera, Arctic — bought with the house, and most are worth keeping in good repair. Pumps on those units are in their second or third life, and the question for a Mukilteo owner is usually whether to reseal the wet end or fit a new pump; we lay out both prices.
Mukilteo is bluff country: Harbour Pointe and Chennault Beach sit high over the Sound, and the tubs there are the most weather-exposed on our route. We work Harbour Pointe, Old Town, Chennault Beach, Picnic Point, Goat Trail and the rest of Mukilteo (98275).

What Mukilteo owners describe on the phone
Water under the pump
Shaft seal weeping onto the pad. Fix it before the water reaches the motor bearings and turns a seal job into a pump job.
Grinding or screaming on high speed
Bearings going, usually after a seal leak. There are weeks of warning before the motor locks; use them.
Hums but no water moves
A seized impeller or a failed start capacitor. The motor is often fine; we free the shaft or fit a capacitor and the pump runs.
FLO, LF or no-flow code
The pack is not seeing enough water past the pressure or flow switch. Filter, air lock, worn impeller or a lazy circ pump — in that order.
Mukilteo note. On a bluff lot a waterlogged cover is not a cosmetic issue; it is the reason the heater runs all day. We weigh covers on every visit.
How the visit runs
- A call half an hour before we arrive — about 10 minutes northwest on the Mukilteo Speedway
- Diagnosis with a meter, then one written price you approve
- Calcium and alkalinity checked for Mukilteo Water & Wastewater District water
- Special-order parts arrive the next business day in most cases
- If the tub is not worth fixing, we say so
Scope, plainly: the spa and what lives inside its skirt. New circuits, supply plumbing and setting new tubs go to an electrician or a dealer.
