Why Mill Creek pump repair calls look the way they do
A spa pump has two halves: the wet end that moves water and the motor that drives it. In Mill Creek we repair the wet end when the motor is sound, replace the pair when the bearings have gone, and say which one it is before we quote.
Mill Creek is on Alderwood water from Everett's Spada Reservoir — under one grain of hardness, which is why calcium hardness increaser belongs in every Mill Creek refill. Soft water attacks the ceramic shaft seal faces over time, so a pump that weeps in Mill Creek is usually a seal, not a crack — a cheaper repair when caught early.
Mill Creek is mostly planned neighborhoods from the 1980s onward — the Country Club core, Silver Firs, Seattle Hill — with tubs on well-built decks and patios that are easy to service. We work Mill Creek Town Center, Silver Firs, Seattle Hill, Thomas Lake, North Creek and the rest of Mill Creek (98012, 98082).

What Mill Creek owners describe on the phone
Hums but no water moves
A seized impeller or a failed start capacitor. The motor is often fine; we free the shaft or fit a capacitor and the pump runs.
FLO, LF or no-flow code
The pack is not seeing enough water past the pressure or flow switch. Filter, air lock, worn impeller or a lazy circ pump — in that order.
Water under the pump
Shaft seal weeping onto the pad. Fix it before the water reaches the motor bearings and turns a seal job into a pump job.
Grinding or screaming on high speed
Bearings going, usually after a seal leak. There are weeks of warning before the motor locks; use them.
Mill Creek note. Fir needles pack a filter faster than anything else in our area — we check the filter before the pump on every no-flow call here.
How the visit runs
- A call half an hour before we arrive — about 10 minutes east on 164th St SW
- Diagnosis with a meter, then one written price you approve
- Calcium and alkalinity checked for Alderwood Water & Wastewater District water
- Special-order parts arrive the next business day in most cases
- If the tub is not worth fixing, we say so
Scope, plainly: the spa and what lives inside its skirt. New circuits, supply plumbing and setting new tubs go to an electrician or a dealer.
